There are three primary seasons in Thailand rainy (May-Oct), Cool (Nov-Feb), Hot (March-May). Rainy season is the least predictable of the three; however it just rains for few hours in the afternoon or night leaving the unpaved roads muddy. The best time to visit Thailand is during cool season however the day time temperature might reach 30 °C during the day at times. If you plan to visit during hot season when the temperature reached 35 °C just go and hit the beach.

As a tourist one should be aware about Thai laws regarding passport, the age of consent and smoking in public. One should also be aware about pickpocketing and bag-snatching and con-artists.

The main culinary centres of Thailand are Bangkok and Chiang Mai. You will find innumerable eating options in the other part of the country as well with the rest of the country with food vendors hawking hot and cold snacks even in the most remote part; hygiene is a concern however. But if you decide to miss these local eating outlets you might land spending more and missing on the local treats. If you are concerned about the hygiene standards opt for the food stalls displaying “Clean Food Good Taste” a project set by Ministry of Public Health for food sanitation.
Don’t drink water directly from the tap; Thais don’t do it either. Drinking water is available in plastic bottles; you will also find variety of soft drinks, soya drinks, and chilled yoghurt drink at drink stalls. Singha and Chang are two most famous local beers. Wine is also available in plenty of market but it’s too costly because of heavy taxation. Thais traditionally don’t drink without eating however one may find a western-style drinking joints in Bangkok.

Bangkok
Bangkok is the capital and by far the largest city of Thailand. This is relatively a young capital which was established in 1782. This travel friendly city of Asia is a tropical metropolis. However the local authorities are taking efforts to make this city more family-friendly. Pattaya Beach is full of life with hundreds of beer bar, discotheques, Muay Thai, the Thai Boxing. More popular amongst family is the Jomtien Beach which is calm and serene compared to the crown of Pattaya beach.
