Uttarakhand is a year round destination, many of the regions popular attractions are located in the cool area of the terai and you can even visit it during summers because it never gets too hot even then. Uttarakhand has pleasant temperature during summers which makes it best time to visit the region. However monsoons are a little hard in Uttarakhand, in the hilly regions there are landslide hence it’s advisable to avoid going there in monsoons. Post monsoons the weather is beautiful so you can visit between September to November.

Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport, Pantnagar airport and Pithoragarh’s Naini Saini Airport are few domestic airport in Dehradun and there are flights connecting to these destination.
By Train
As Uttarakhand lies in the mountains the railway network is meagre. Main railway junctions for Uttarakhand are Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Nainital, Kotdwar, Kathgodam, Pauri and Udham Singh.
By Road
Technically entire Uttarakhand is connected via road to the rest of North India, however one should keep in mind these are hilly terrains hence the state of road is very neglected. There are frequent incidences of landslides especially in the remote areas.
